The sixth episode of Ultraman One (Continuity) is the first parter of Evil Clone, featuring the first "real" showdown between the protagonist Ultra and his evil template.

Summary

"Ultraman One, this battle in your dream will soon turn into a reality"

―One Darkness in the episode's prologue.

At midnight, Otari was shivering in fear while being asleep deeply. The young man was having nightmares of his Ultra identity losing against One Darkness, who emerged victorious in the battle through brutally assaulting One with landing physical blows and overpowering One in beam clash. As a result, Otari remained fatigued after waking up in the morning. The SACD members are in their daily routine, but Kato was smiling uncontrollably that caught the attention of others. When Sakura approached him "kind-heartedly", she was gravely wounded when Kato fires his rifle at her. Everyone was flabbergasted with what happened, Kato proceeded to assault the rest, who counterattacked with their combatant skills but Kato easily immobilized the SACD with telepathy powers. Seeing those present rendered defenseless, Otari arrived to pin down Kato after disarming his rifle with an energy blast. But the latter managed to break free and before taking his leave, Kato mocked everyone as "useless". Otari immediately healed his comrades save Sakura, who was rushed to the nearby hospital.

The SACD members waited anxiously outside the operating theatre for hours. Feeling lament over his failure in protecting Sakura, Otari confessed regarding his identity as Ultraman One. But instead of getting faulted for hiding such an important secret, his comrades gave him their understanding and congratulated Otari for being much braver than any of them. Moments later, the surgeon appeared and assured everyone that Sakura's condition was stable. Everyone attempted to comfort Sakura, who was devastated that the person ("Kato") she loved the most has become tainted with darkness.

Boosting determination to seek payback against Kato for hurting his friends, Otari left to contact Kato through telepathy. Both of them confronted each other at the hospital's rooftop. Otari punched his counterpart for betraying the SACD, but Kato ignored him and turned into One Darkness. The dark giant gestured Otari to fight him, who becomes One. Like in the dreams of Otari, One's attacks were ineffective in dealing with the slightest damage to his dark counterpart. Even when One assumes his Agile and Blaze forms, One Darkness effortlessly evaded off the moves from his light counterpart. Hence One was severely injured after an aerial clash. Mocking One's spirit in his refusal to give up, One Darkness forcibly reverted One into Otari and made his move after winning in a beam clash. A wounded One was retrieved by his SACD comrades, as the protagonist required immediate medical attention and his recuperation progress will affect One's performance in battles.
