Mothra is a Kaiju guardian of the Earth who appears in Ultraman Legacy.
History[]
Original[]
Mothra first appeared in 1961 and disappeared before fighting and being killed by Godzilla in 1964, however her child survived and ended up aiding Godzilla against King Ghidorah. She once again appeared in 2017, after the awakening of her evil twin Battra. After Battra in a city, in an attempt to wipe out all of humanity, defeating the AKDF and getting into an ariel battle with Ultraman Legacy, Mothra appeared and attacked Battra, turning the tide of the battle. Legacy and Mothra quickly joined forces, and together the two managed to defeat Battra. After the Shobijin bid humanity farewell, Mothra flew off back to Infant Island.
Mothra later appeared to battle King Ghidorah once he had returned, flying in alongside Rodan to help out Legacy and Godzilla. Mothra lost her life during the battle, being killed by King Ghidorah's Gravity Beams. However, Mothra had an egg on Infant Island, which soon hatched into a new Mothra.
Second Mothra[]
This second Mothra would be the Mothra to appear throughout the rest of the series, often alongside Earth's other Kaiju. Her first appearance was hatching out of her egg at the very end of the episode the first Mothra was killed in. This Mothra would attempt to aid Legacy against Desghidorah when he appeared from space seemingly to avenge his fallen relative. Mothra did not fair to well in the battle due to being in larval form, and was nearly killed until Godzilla and Legacy managed to hold of Desghidorah. The alien dragon retreated, giving Mothra time to transform into her adult form. After this transformation, Mothra helped Legacy and Godzilla to defeat Desghidorah once and for all. She would also appear to battle Dagarhra, aiding Legacy in the Kaiju's defeat.
